i was wondering if a Rosewill RP550V2-D-SL 550W SLI Ready-ATX 12V V2.01 Power Supply 115/230 V CSA,UL,TUV http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182030 would fit into my hp a1430n computer.

Should do,But you have to take into account the watts needed to run your computer,How many watts was your old one?

I think most manufacturer cases right now are all mid-tower sized to the ATX power supply should work out.

my old psu is 300 watts, and the only reason im buying this is because i just bought a new video card (7600gs) and for sli it requires 400 watts minimum.

That Rosewill PSU should work nicely for you. It provides 36A on the dual 12V rails which will be plenty for two 7600GS in SLI.
