I connected my tv and laptop with a s-video but the laptop screen isn't showing up on the tv. Is there something else I have to do?

Have you tried for example pressing Fn+F8 to set the monitor on both or one screen.

I'll give that a try. Where is Fn? I only have F1-F12.

You said you connected it up to your laptop all laptops I know have This (Click me) do you have this key?

Also make sure you set your TV to an S-Video input.

Most TV's don't auto switch to receive S-Video they have to be manually selected.
