Hi all.

I have a HP Pavilion s7545a Slimline Desktop PC that I have had for a few years now. I am having trouble turning it on, It makes a beeping sound, I am also having problems with a picture on the monitor, I suspect that the VGA port on the motherboard has died, I cannot put a GPU in as it a very small, I thought it was the monitor that died so I tried it on my laptop and it works fine, I tried the tower on my TV and cannot get a picture.

Specs Are:

CPU: Intel Core Duo @ 1.6GHz
Ram: 1GB DDR2 SDRam
HDD: 160GB 7200RPM Serial ATA
Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Hyper Memory Graphics
OS: Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005(If I can get it going I plan on installing Windows 7)

Please Help!!

You might be able to plug in a standard height card for testing and leave the case open.

Can you describe the beep? Is it a series of short and long beeps?

It's just a long continuos beep which gets really annoying.

Sounds to me like a ram or motherboard issue. Reseat the ram and see what happens. If that doesn't work, take out all of the ram. When you turn it on the motherboard should produce a different beep pattern to indicate no ram.
