how do i tell what ram i have?

how can i tell if i have PC3200, PC2100 or whatever ram?

wel u gotta find a place tht has all kinds of RAM (or a frend) and u gotta put one in, turn it on...if it dont werk...it aint tht RAM. Wen u finally get ur computer to boot with a RAM chip, then thts the RAM u got...usually a computer place will charge like $5 for this. No biggy

Wouldn't it just be easier to open the box and look inside? Besides ... what computer shop owner is going to need to "test" various RAM to figure out what kind is in there? That's a shop I'd avoid!
