How do I enable USB 2.0?

I have an Intel D865GBF mobo and I know it comes USB 2.0 standard. Everytime I try to connect a USB 2.0 device I keep getting messages saying that my PC USB isn't 2.0. I know the lower speed works fine. Do I have to install updates to get it working? My OS is winXP.

try the bios, im pretty sure you can do it from there

Some computers have both hubs built in. Make sure you're using the correct one. My dad's rear ports are actually USB1.1, but the mobo headers are 2.0...

Ah, and of course, if you're using an external hub, be sure it's USB2.0 compatable ;P

I have it set to high speed in the BIOS settings too. It's not working for some reason.
