its only been happening for the last couple of day but its starting to annoy me now.

ive deleated all the restore points from beyond that happend . but im pretty sure i did when i first noticed the change but it didnt help

I'm not sure on Vista but with XP there is a system file checker that may fix the problem, it repairs System files which may work, another thing you could do in XP was a repair install, once again I'm not too sure what the go is with Vista.

I'm not going to be much help mate sorry, it's been ages since I dual booted Vista so I have nothing to refer to.

That's it, even the same command, sfc /scannow.

Make sure you type it correctly or it won't run, it may or may not fix your problem, also it may want to replace some updated files with the originals, read all the prompts (if you get any) carefully before deciding on an action.
