Help me decide what to buy

Am planning on a new build soonish. am a heavy gamer. i have about 2 and a half grand new zealand to spend. so go hard spend my money.

so far i have:

nVidia GeForce 8800GTS .(my own choice) $593.16
E6600 2.4GHz Conroe. (mammikoura) $402.93
INFINITY P965-S $314.21
2GB DDR2-800 $286.43
Zalman ZM600-HP PSU$237.46
Zalman CNPS9500 cpu cooler $101.53
WD Caviar 300gb$171.29
Lian-li case $224.44
Sony DWQ120A10 DVD Writer $101.55

EDIT: Have noticed lots of this sort of thread on the forums lately. some people may be getting annoyed with this. its your choice to post on here, no ones forcing you. so if you dont wana know about it then skip it.
 
well I have no idea about the prices there.
But I'd recommend going with e6600 and 2gb of ram. Then pick a compatible mobo and a good psu with something like 600W.

Why's that? i heard that a conroe can be overclocked to 3.2ghz on air cooling, so i was planning on that. what would be a good MoBo for OC'ing then??

well it will prolly be picky about ram as well cos i heard someone returning one at my local comp stores returns dep about 2 weeks ago and the tech there said this is the 4th one this month meaning april

one uses the n vidia 680i chipset and one uses the intel p965 chipset

get both lol , then use the raptor as a boot and software drive and the cavier for storage as the raptor is blindingly fast and will speed up all the loading times and the cavier is great for storage

i'll get a 36gb raptor for windows and use the cavier and storage. is there any way to link My Documents to a different HDD so i can store all my stuff on the cavier and only windows on the raptor??
