I am new to all the computer building, but i have had lots of help from my friends and tutorials. Anyway i need to build a computer that will be good enough to edit 16+ tracks of audio on programs such as sonar 8 and stuff. I also will be doing video editing to create music videos. I have put together this computer, but i dont know if it is overkill for what i will be doing. Another thing i probably will get into gaming, but nothing major.

Go with the first one. the full 1080p is a lot better for many purposes including blu-ray, but yeah, read the blu-ray thread before buying. that is the same model i bought that didn't have the right software to play blu-rays

Generally, don't buy a monitor with less than 1920x1080 unless it is less than 19" or less than $150. that is my general rule.
