Hardrive issue...

Ok,I have a 320gb SATA Seagate HDD,and a 40gb western digital HDD.I have Windows XP installed on the 320gb,but the 40gb is showing up as drive C: and if i take the 40gb out,it wont boot,Why??

Did you make the 320GB drive first boot device in the bios after you removed the 80GB?

Yeah,it comes up with:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
<Windows Root>\system32\HAL.dll

Please re-install a copy of the above file.

But if i put it back in and boot of the 40gb,it boots fine.
