Hiya all!

My mate has an old Windows 98 SE. We encounted some errors and I had to format the HD. Anyway, I reinstalled Windows but when it loaed up, the colours were only 16 and the res was only at 640. I tried downloading the drivers for the on-board graphics chip (Which is SIS 5568) but they wernt the right ones. After I tried them, when i load up Windows, the screen remains black?!

What do i do? PLEASE help me!!!!

(The mobo is: GMB-P57SAX V1 and the chip is SIS 5568)

Thanks!
Jamie!

Did u change the resolution while u were in windows. If so that is the reason why the screen remains black. (no drivers so the vid. card can't use high resolutions) This is not a custom build is it? Just go to the manufacturers website and get the drivers from there.

Its a Time. I cant change the resolution. Its only at 640. Its gone black after installing those drivers.
