I get the same job for both systems. The GPU job says a couple of hours. The CPU job says a couple of DAYS.

The vid card is a EVGA GTX650 ti with 2 gigs of ram. The CPU is an Intel i5 3570K with 16gigs backing it up.
How in the world does the vid card getting done faster than the computer?

This is sad...

I found out that the folding program written for the GPU's is done in a fashion that is similar to rendering. Since it's written to target the GPU's capabilities, it's over all faster.
But I never expected it to outrun the CPU's capabilities. That was interesting to find out.

Yes GPU only is for rendering or gaming purpose, I think you should increase CPU for folding, GPU is Graphic Processing Unit.

Simply false. There is a GPU app for it that takes advantage of all the cores in the GPU. Nvidia provides an API to allow people like those who made folding at home to utilize this.
