Oh no, defintely not. They're actually memory chips (IC's) developed my Micron for high end DDR2 memory performance. There are other brands that carry the Micron D9's, but this one happen to be cheaper. The Crucial Ballistix is not a cheap RAM as far as quality is concerened, but the price is cheap, hehe. If I were to buld a system now, that's what I would be getting. Mushkin, Corsair, and OCZ also use D9's in some of the RAM models.
