Hey guys,
I am building a new computer and these are the specifications that i have decided to go with;

Intel Quad Core Q8200 2.33Ghz
Asus P5Q or Gigabyte EP45 Motherboard <---Can you help me with this?
Kingston 4GB DDR2 800Mhz
Gigabyte 9800GT 1GB <---Is this a good choice?
Seagate 500GB 7200rpm SATA

So i just need help with the Motherboard and the Graphics card. The build is for regular internet use and gaming(not an extreme gamer).

The total price with the PSU, case, DVD+RW adds up to AUD1150.

If I were you, I'd have a look at the Phenom II 810 or Phenom II 710. They are competing with the Q8200 and perform around the same or better, but are supposedly priced slightly lower. Pair it with a 790GX motherboard.
Gigabyte 9800GT 1GB <---Is this a good choice?
The 1GB of VRAM isn't going to be worth it for a 9800GT. If you can find an HD 4850 for the same price, go with that, it's a better performing card. If not, go with the 9800GT 512MB or the HD 4830.

What PSU are you going with?

I am not very familiar with the AMD product line, so i will have to do a little bit more research on that.

But here is what i think would be;

Intel Quad Q8200 2.33Ghz = $278
GIGABYTE (Intel) EP45-DS3L = $145
Seagate 500GB = $89

The VGU i have in mind are;

Gigabyte 9800GTX+ 1GB = $294
Inno3D 512MB 9800GTX+ = $254
Asus 512MB 9800TX+ = $279
Gigabyte/Asus 512MB HD4850 = $245

Kingston 4GB DDR2 800 = $72
19" Asus VW193T = $174
Coolermaster Extreme 500W = $71
Thermaltake V9 = $114

Get the Q6600. It's a better deal.
Motherboard is okay.
You can get a 1TB HDD for $5-$10 more.
Skip the 1GB versions of the card. If you really want to spend $200+ on the card, go for the GTX 260 Core 216.

Thanks Rohan, so i will avoid the 1GB versions of the card.
Which motherboard can you recommend me for decent gaming?
