Getting rid of task pane in Word 2003

Every time i open Word, the Task Pane opens too, and i hate thing and i have to close it, but after i close word and open it again,s ITS BACK

its so irritating, does someone know how to get rid of it???

You open up Word. Go to the Tools menu and click on Options.

Under the View tab, where it says Show, deselect the "Startup Task Pane". Should get rid of it on every startup afterwards.

The taskpane annoyed me long time ago since I first got Office 2003. I played around and found that option available, so that was pretty flexible of Microsoft.
