Hey guys
not sure if theres a thread on this but what type of motherboard is good for gaming. Some people say the AMD motherboards are good for gaming?

Any suggestions guys

Well if it has to be future proofed, then make sure it has a PCI-Express 2.0 slot. Sorry, that's all I can offer.

AMD does have a lot of kicks when it comes to gaming, but Intel still has the upper hand. The current 680i chipset that nVidia produces for Intel boards are amazing. Also, the new X38 Chipset boards from Intel are by far the best from what I've seen. They support things like DDR3 RAM. A select few use DDR2, which is slowly becoming outdated.

Check out this board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131218

It costs a mere 335 USD, but it supports 8 GB of DDR3 1800, 1600, and 1333. Also supports quad-core processors with 1600 and 1333 Mhz FSB. SLi'ed or Cross Fire is also available.
