formating xp

hi i need to format xp to fat32 so i can put win 98se on how do i do this with out the xp disk?

bear in mind this laptop has a external usb floppy drive

Um...

The win98 and win98se cd has every thing you need. Just set the bios to boot from the cd first the hard drive then the floppy. When you're done don't forget to put things back as they were.

EDIT: are you doing a dual boot or just chunking xp for 98?

maybe im just being thick but how do i get to the format bit using when the 98 cd has booted??

Well...

There should be a menu. On mine there is.
The menu comes up or you may have to explore the cd.
if the menu comes up then click the browse this cd item. Then click setup. It takes you throught it all.
If you have to explore the cd then just select setup.
