firewire networking

me and a friend have connected our computers by a firewire cable. he needs to take a file from my computer but we can't figure out how to get into the shared documents folder (where the file is) from his computer. file sharing is enabled and we did get a game working using this networking method. how can he browse the shared folders in my computer from his?

how bout both of u get on aim, and transfer that way, if u have a router and can connect that way, u can get a shitload transfered if ur connected to the same router das wut me and my frend do a lot of the time just take a comp to his house, saves cd's plus it gives us sumthin to do if i stay the night

nah, we're just directly connected, something is messed with his ethernet port so we didn't bother trying to get him on my LAN.

ummm, i think if u right clik a folder and copy
then go to "my network places" and paste
then he can go to mynetwork places on his comp and see that folder

i'll have to try that. we were both assigned different workgroups for some reason but we can't see eachothers under "entire network". but adding that folder might help, i don't really know.
