Is this fan compatible with this cpu?? Need help for an upgrade!

Hi I'm going to upgrade my PC by ordering some parts off newegg. I've finally got some extra money and will be purchasing this CPU here:

Newegg.com - AMD Athlon X2 7550 Kuma 2.5GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

My current box is Intel, so I'm assuming that I won't be able to use my fan and heatsink which is mounted to a Socket 478, so I need a really cheap heatsink + fan. It says that "Customers Also Bought" this one:

Newegg.com - Rosewill RCX-Z80-AL 80mm Sleeve CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

But the fan says the compatibility is for "Socket 754 / 939 / 940 / AM2" and my CPU above is an AM2+. Other customers bought the two together though. Are they compatible?

Also, this motherboard here says it takes Athlon 64 X2 CPUs

Because the CPU is AM2 is it compatible too? The motherboard only says AMD 64 Athlon X2, but my CPU just says "Athlon X2"

These are probably noob questions. I'm still learning about computer components.

I want to order asap but I need to make sure the fan will work. Any help would be so much appreciated.

One look at the compatibility shows that model cooler to be compatible with Socket 754 / 939 / 940 / AM2 when looked over in the specifications tab. An alternate that includes the AM2+ line by Rosewill is the Rosewill FORT120 120mm Direct Touch CPU Cooler seen for a much higher price of $49.99! at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835200053

I was reading that AM2 and AM2+ have the same physical form factor, and therefore fans / heatsinks are intercompatible.

It doesn't always depends on the socket. The core and die placement are different on the physical chips themselves. That's why a lot of the HDT series heatsinks for socket 775 don't work too well with the socket 1366 platform. Since you aren't overclocking, any heatsink will do really.

This one cools well, is cheap and will give you some headroom in case if you ever do overclock.
