External Hard Drive

Well I dont know jack about macs, and just got my dad a 500gb external hard drive..Anyhow, it comes formated for windows, but I'm not sure how/what I need to do so it works with his g5..I think hes running mac osx..Someone please help me out asap..thanks

You should be able to format it like any other hard drive:
