How do I change the partition type?
right now it gives me
C: Partition1 [new <raw>] after I have just made it, and when i reboot, it says C: Partition1 [unkown]
This disk does not contain a WinXP compatible partition...
How can i confert to NTFS?
Thanks.

EDIT:
Here's what I get after I select the partition and press enter:
To install WinXP on the partition you selected, setup must write some startup files to the following disk:
unkown disk
However, this disk does not contain a WinXP compatible partition
To continue instlaling WinXP return to the partition selection screen and create a Win XP compatible partition on the disk above. If there is no free space on the disk, delete an exisitng partition, and then create a new one.
To return to the partition selection screen, press ENTER

Thanks.

hmmmmmm.. i think this happened to me before
do you already have a previous copy of windows on your hdd?

Uh, yeah, I deleted all the partitions, then created a new one, but it doesn't give me any options to format it.
I did have WinXP installed on there before i deleted all the partitions.

No, I had winXP installed... and all the partitions are deleted execpt for the unkown/raw partition1
