DVD player (in-comp)

My built-in DVD player doesn't seem to want to work. It's called like "Power DVD" or something on a Dell Latitude D620 that I usually take with me on trips to do single-player games/watch DVDs, but now when I put the disk in the drive the menu comes up. I can click resume or restart on the menu. Whenever I click one it goes to a black screen with the DVD player controls at the bottom of the screen still, but I don't hear the disk drive going and the screen just stays black. It isn't freezing because I can exit the program or go back to the main menu. I thought it could have been a bad DVD, but I don't think that 10 DVDs could all be bad.
