DVD Encoder?

I just built this computer and install Windows Media Player that I downloaded from Microsoft website, I don't have any other media player except for Divx install, and Nero.

I tried playing a DVD that I rented and when I tried to play it on Windows Media Player it says that it cant play because it doesn't have a DVD encoder.

What program can I use to play my DVDs?

well its called a dvd decoder, and you can download vlc media player, and play dvds with that.
