Drives mssing

Hello,
I need help desperatly, I was just installing flight simulator 2004, when suddenly my computer restarted and when it booted back up my CD and DVD were missing.....My atapi DVD-Rom 16X max and yamaha CRW8824E
Plz what could the problem be?

just reconnect everything. see if that works.

reconnect.....as in open usp the case, and reocnnect the IDE cables?

yep reconnect. it appears that your mobo doesnt detect your drives. if they came with drivers, reinstall them.

I've had harddrives do similar things. Try disconnecting it, cut the comp on then back off, then reconnect them. Never quite figured out why but I've had to do that to my Western Digital Harddirve quite a few times, usally if my computer does something like shuts down in the middle of some process...

I turned it off at night, and in morning when i turned it on it was fine!!!
