Drive wipe problem

Working on a laptop, and I'm trying to wipe the drive. Tried several programs already. It has a password as soon as you turn it on on a white screen. Then it has a HDD password which I do not know. Is it still possible to wipe this drive? Every program I run has an error before it ever starts.

If I had to do this i'd insert the OS install disk and use the re-format option there.

Otherwise remove the hard drive, plug it into a working machine and format it there.
