How do you enable DMA for a Serial ATA hard drive? I'm using Windows XP.

I'm not even sure if DMA applies to SATA hard drives, so I'm open to any suggestions or comments. Thank you.

:)

Yep. I know DMA is normally enabled but, for some reason, it seems DMA is disabled for my SATA hard drive. For an IDE drive, I would know where to look to solve this problem and return the setting to "DMA if available." Though, I don't know where this option would be for my SATA drive.

:(

Hwo do you know its not avaliable? You using linux? If its an old sata it wont have it. But it you have to enable it, its in the bios.
