Different ways to connect a laptop to a computer?

My laptop (Dell Inspiron 1420) has an:
S-Video (7 pin) port, and a VGA port

I want to connect my laptop to my LCD TV. It does NOT have HD.

My TV has an S-Video port (4 pin), a VGA Port, an HDMI port, and RCA ports.

So should I get an S-Video cable (that one doesn't have sound right?). A VGA-VGA cable, a VGA-RCA cable, a VGA-HDMI cable.

Thanks for any help and let me know if you need clarification. (I'm new to this).

The video ports aren't going to be able to support sound to your tv. So at some point you are going to have to run sound to your tv. Either through a speaker jack to red and white audio cord. Or optical audio if your computer and TV can support it. The S-video might be your best choice because the S-video input on your tv usually has a sound component with it.

Ok so how will I run audio? Does it make a difference that the S-Vid ports are 7-pin and 4-pin at the Laptop and TV ends, respectively?
