Defraging a Ipod

I had this idea that since, the ipod (when the settings are on USE AS DISK or whatever) is opened as a generic volume (E: on my computer) then it will show up in the diskdefragmenter program and i could defrag it, would this cause any harm to the ipod? I think it will help b/c when i sometimes start up a song it will wait like 5 secs until the song starts.
