Defrag and RAM Q

Ok I have 2 questions, the first one is if i have 2 harddrives and im defraging the on with all my music will it slow down the hard drive with my a;; of my programs on it??? Also my friend has an older PC and it has PC2700 RAM in it is it possible to upgrade it to PC 3200 or will this not be compatable???

defragging really should never slow down your computer, so you should be good their. And if he has pc2700 ram it's probably because thats the maximum speed is mobo supports. However if you throw in some pc3200 ram, it will just operate at the slower pc2700 speed. jsut a waste of money to pay for pc3200 if u ask me if you cant use it.
