Cpu Upgrade For Compaq!

I have a compaq evo d510 CMT. it has a socket 478 with a fsb of 533mhz/the one before that. i cant remember. but i need to get a cpu that will fit that socket but is around 3.0ghz.i looked at compaqs website to look at specs and it says i can go up to 2.8 ghz. but i am thinking thats an old page and new processors have arrived since then. so right now i have a 1.8ghz P4. can anyone help?

Yup, a 2.8GHz P4 Northwood is about the best you can do on a 533MHz socket 478 motherboard.
