cpu problem

i hav e an amd athlon xp 3200+,1024mb ram asrock k7s41 motherboard dvd r/w ,dvd rom when i try to either play a game or upload a cd onto my hard drive the cpu will run at 90-100% then reboots my pc any help would be appreciated

Ever try running a stress tester to see whats going on?

That will "stress test" your cpu and ram to see if there's anything wrong. There's a bunch out there...

Also, is the system new?

I have a real old CD-RW drive that has trouble reading some discs. When it does, my PC freezes and I'm forced to keep pushing the Eject button until it comes out.

So if your drive is old, think about upgrading.

If your system restarts, it's probably a system failure. Run a boot-time chkdsk by opening a comand prompt, typing "chkdsk /F", and pressing Enter.

If you still have probs after this, your PSU is probably not good enough. Make sure you have a model from a major brand and that it can supply sufficient power to your system.
