A few days ago, Intel's motherboard monitor notified me that the heatsink fan (HSF) went to zero RPM for about a minute. Now, when I run any application or games, the cpu temp climbs rapidly to the caution zone of ~125-150F. Normally, the HSF would rev up to 4000+ RPM in these conditions, but now it runs within 3100-3200 RPM under any load. I need help finding a CPU cooler that will replace the boxed cooler. I have these two products in mind:
Antec Performance CPU Cooler ($30 @ CircuitCity):
Specs: http://www.antec.com/pdf/flyers/performance_cpucooler.pdf
Zalman USA CNPS7000B-ALCU ($40 @ CompUSA):
Specs: http://www.zalman.co.kr/
(Go to: Intel CPUs > CNPS7000B-ALCU)
These are the inexpensive and compatible instore products I can find. Which one is generally better for my Intel P4 2 Ghz?
