i need a converter to convert wmv to mpeg so i can but them on to a cd-r, i have tried google but had no luck i want it free the problem is i am running windows 98se

First of all, go spit out the 150$ and get xp, because win 98 is really old and really sux. Now that thats out of the way, you should have no prob going on google and finding software for this for XP.

I don't think,you will find a freeware.
But you will find lots of convertor shareware, you can use those if your requirement is not large; or you will have to switch to other operating system.

Media Encoder 9 from Microsoft.
It's a rather large file to download on dialup but in my book it's well worth it. I use it to record my web cam looking out the window for days on end. It can input many formats and output just a bunch of different ones.
But you know what's really cool about this thing? Two things really.
It's a snap to figure it out. And it's 100% free.
