constant small jerk every 1 second

Hi wonder if you could help me

I have been having a problem with my computer in that it does a small jerk ever second in all games. I have run the directx tests and although they work the cube spins at rocketship speeds (should be limited?)

Wondering if you could shed any light on this have dx9.0c catalyst 5.1

Amd Athlon XP 2400+
DFI Lanparty NFII Ultra B
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro All In wonder
1gb geil pc3200 dual channel ram
550watt PSU
WD 36gb 10000rpm Raptor

Usually runs about 35 degrees C system and CPU nothing is overclocked.

Getting bored of buying new bits to try and fix this any help appreciated

do u have any background programs running and/or have a Gif wallpaper in Tile

and have u cheked for spyware

could be ur playing new games? cuz if u are, its prolly the gfx card, i have a 9700 and play wow, if im not OCing it the game jerks every couple of seconds, and when i OC it it runs smooth

It does it from clean install so background programs are unlikely and its defautl background.

spyware possibly but what are the chances of the same thing happening after every format. I have tried running a few scanners.

I really think a 9800pro should be able to handle the likes of needforspeed underground 2 / aquamark 3.

Atm i am also trying ATI support but got more chance getting a useful reply from an untrained monkey. Basic jist is they say its not our problem.
