compatibility question

this is my curent pc

now i wanted to know if http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814103167 this would fit/work on my pc
ive seen some cards that say there are certain watt requirements for certain cards, so is this one of them?
im not sure on how many watts my pc has, the only numbers on the back i see are 100 120/220 240 50/60 hz

also, is a grounding wrist strap really needed when installing memory/graphic cards?
if i dont use it, what extra precautions or steps would i need to take?

i built my computer on a staticy rug during the winter time with my sweater on... a grounding strap is safe, but is it nessecary? i don't really think so. and that's a good choice for pci card. go for it.. it would definitely fit.. and the psu shouldn't be a problem

Lol, I was scared about opening my case without a wrist strap too. Turns out its not necessary, as long as you ground yourself by touching a metal part to discharge any static electricity you may have accumulated. As long as you touch the back of your pc, every once in a while you should be set. The card is pci based, so just make sure your computer has a free pci slot. This card doesn't need any extra power. It gets its power from the motherboard once you plug it into the pci slot. It should improve your graphics by a lot considering your computer has an old Intel chipset. Good luck installing!

alrite thanks that helps a lot i was worried about it explodin or somethin haha
but yeh, the metal part meaning the psu itself or jus like the metal part alongside the case?
and by touchin every once in a while does that mean the hand youre using to put the stick/card in or your free hand

you could touch the psu or touch the case, and just ground both hands, pat your tower a bit and just go ahead on installing the card.
