Title says it all, I have 2 options here for getting a new build...I am getting 500$ soon for a website I am making, my friend is getting/upgrading parts on his old rig, he wants me to sell me his parts from his old rig mobo, ram, and processor for 200$ the rig is only 2 years old he has an Asus mobo, Cruical ram (I think) and and AMD processor that he can superclock, but he never clocked it, on the other hand: should I just go an buy all new parts from Newegg?

I'll try getting his rig info....

thanks!

here is a processor that I really want to get from Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115052

My HDD:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136073

and my cheap good gaming case:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119047

the case comes with (I think a 550 watt powersupply) correct me if I am wrong...

the only thing I need is a mobo that can support DDR2 ram because I already have RAM remember I am on a 500$ budget and I already have a GPU also!!!

thanks! (again)

where you buy is your choice.
Since its 2 years old, it might not be worth it to buy it.
For $200, you can get a pretty good mobo, CPU, and RAM if you are going with AMD.

Look now, help me with parts.... :D

no, that case does not come with a PSU.

have a look in my sig for the mobo/ram/cpu

I think he wants Intel

quick question before i help you choose.
Do you intend to Overclock?

Do you see my build at my signature? $400, all parts but monitor, keyboard/mouse, and OS ordered from newegg. If you subtract $60 from the video card and add $100 from the money you have extra you can get an HD4850. I've had no problems with these parts. The CPU can be easily OC'ed to 3.2GHz with the unlocked multiplier/FSB. If you don't want to spend all the extra money on the video card you could get more and faster RAM (2x2GB DDR2 1066MHz).

I want an asus mobo that can match ddr2 ram...remember I got 500$ and I don't need a gpu nor powersupply and no ram, is that processor I posted decent?

What RAM are you getting from him? Are you sure it's DDR2? It is most likely DDR and will not work in a modern motherboard.
