Dvi is supposedly digital and better, but it is all a matter of choice.

It depends. DVI is better for longer distances as the signal won't degrade, but in my opinion looks just a little bit better than VGA at short distances. VGA is just your normal connection and good for short distances.

well i have VGA right now but when i get my gaming rig i will go DVI crisper picture.

Using VGA, the signal from the CPU is converted to VGA by the video adapter and sent to a monitor with VGA input.
The conversion to VGA causes some loss of quality.

With DVI the signal is not converted (kept digital) and sent to the DVI input on the monitor.

I think you should see a difference if you purchase a video card with digital output. But, it's a good idea anyway.

I used to use VGA but ever since I switched to DVI I noticed a difference, everything is clearer and crisper around the edges.
