BSOD Error During Windows XP Installation

Back again for another horrid problem with my fresh install of Windows XP MCE.

During the installation process, I had the luxury of receiving a BSOD with the following error:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
STOP: 0x0000000A blah blah blah

It can't be a driver issue as my harddisks are reformatted, and the only connected peripherals are my wireless USB mouse and keyboard!

Now, I have to redo the entire installation process!

So am I to presume my motherboard or some hardware is failing?

When it rains, it pours huh?

Check to see that your memory is fully seated. You could also try removing all but one stick and try the install again.

Will do. Though I suppose I have to shut down my computer for that and restart again.

So there's no risk of a hardware malfunction?

Typically when you get an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL STOP: 0x0000000A error during installation, it usually indicates a memory problem. If it will install with one stick, you can add the others when your finished with the install.
