after many hours i sucsessfully managed to get xp to boot from xp! woop!
i insstalled the os the same way you would as if you were on a ordinary drive.
it loaded fine...great
and could see the other drives aka my vista c: drive and my to other partitions...great
all good times
now time to go back into vista
vista wont boot. its asking where is XP?? i have mafe##de sure it is now booting from my harddrive and not the usb, but it still wont boot untill i put the usb stick in! and thats XP
why is this happening as when i looked in my vista c: drive from the usb stick it all appeared to be intact nothing had been touched.
how do i get vista back? as i know it is still there

dont worry fixed it.
used the vista disk to repair boot sector
