Bios is not ACPI compliant...?

I just built a new computer, and i'm trying to install Windows XP.
I got the Blue Screen of Death, and it says

"Bios is not ACPI compliant"

or something like that...

and then it says to update my Bios but i have no idea how...

I've not had to do it before on the other Computers i hve built.

Try removing all add on cards, modem. nic, etc.
Also, if you want to do a bios update, you will need to find the latest bios for your board by checking the manufacturers website. Typically this means making a startup disk, and putting the flash utility, and the bios rom, or bin file on a floppy. Boot to floppy, run the flash util., and replace your bios with the newer one.
