BF 2142 demo problem! can you expect any less?

hello i downloaded the bf 2142 demo and installed it for it to come up with this error message:

This application has failed to start because d3dx9_29.dll was not found. REinstalling the application may fic this problem

i reinstalled it three times and no prevail. im thinking maybe its a dx9 thing but not sure tell me what you think...

It may be that, or it may be a corrupted download.

Did you download it in one go or over several days?

in one go. im googing it now to see if anyone has that file as the demos about a Gig in total so i cant be assed to download it again

ok just went into the bf 2142 forums and it appears you have to have the latest directx installed so heres the link ot directx and the link ot the forum:

yeah it's a direct X problem as the name of the dll file suggest. Updating Direct x will fix it, but just don't expect that the demo is good. I played for 10 mins and then deleted it.
