Hi,

Again, my audio drivers arent working. I tried reinstalling the realtek high definition audio drivers and there weren't any yellow exclamation marks beside any of my audio driver icons in hardware management. But I still can't hear a thing from my speakers. What do I do?

Have you got a speaker icon in your task bar on the right?

If not, go to the Control Panel, and go to Sounds & Audio Devices.

Make sure 'Place Icon In Taskbar' is ticked, and press Okay.

Now, right click that in the task bar and make sure nothing is ticked as being muted, for example the main volume on the left.

If you go to Options, Properties, you'll see the entire list of devices that can use the sound card.
Make sure everything is ticked, and then check that none of those are muted.

Okay, I believe your sound cards onboard.

I'm wondering if the drivers have installed, but the audio device itself has been switched off somehow.

Restart your computer, and go into the BIOS (Del at bootup)

Find the onboard sound in one of the menus (it'll be somewhere), and check its enabled.

Then save and exit.

I'm guessing it wouldn't have let you even install drivers if it wasn't on though.

I haven't heard of a RealTek audio device thats not onboard anyway...

true...I was not looking to be offensive BTW. :p

It is possible the is a setting to "enable digital output only" or "Use digital signal" or something like that. If this setting is checked then that could be why you hear nothing.
