is there any other alternative software to xfire that does pretty much the same thing out there?

Xfire is basically msn but for online gaming. it alows you to see what your friends are playing, if they are playing anything, and it use to allow you to join the game that they was in. now it doesnt which is really annoying as it was the best feature of it, hence why i was wondering if there was an alternative

lol nothing to do with ATIs crossfire (which i cant wait for!!!!!)

ATI will have a few variations of its brand new R520 core. Some will be faster, some will be clocked slower, some will have more pipelines and some will be more available than the others.

The top end R520 XT will porbably end up clocked to 600MHz core with sixteen pipelines and memory at around 1400MHz!!! Whoever gets this card may end up having the fastest card around. This one may not be too much in demand knowing how expensive it takes to produce. So supply may be limited to demand. The other two cards will also feature sixteen pipelines but their core and memory speeds will end up working slower than the R520 XP performance.

The R520 pro will be second in terms of speed and will work at 550 MHz core while its memory will work at 1250 MHz. This card should be widely available and will have sixteen pipelines.

Third in line is R520XL. This card will work at 500 MHz core and 1000 MHz memory and its price will be more acceptable for a lot of people. This has sixteen pipelines and will be highly available.
