Admin Privilages?!!

I have a problem, whenever i want to download somthing or maybe upload somthing a window pops up and says You may not have permission to acess dis path,file,or window.I think its becuase im not admin,this happened when my cousins virus scanner scaned my computer,its called Avg somthing...Can someone please help me!!Also my computer is a Dell Xp

Are you an administrator of the computer?

Go to Control Panel, User Accounts and see if it says your a computer administrator.

Yes but it says im Admin but i don't think i am..
