Abit AV8 3rd Eye needs 1.5 bios to run 90nm Winchester

Hi,

I am getting a Abit AV8 3rd Eye motherboard and a 90nm Winchester core CPU (AMD 3500+) but I have been told that i'll need to have the bios flashed to version 1.5 to allow the CPU to boot... and most have version 1.1 after being shipped.
How would I do this if I couldn't boot it? and how would you flash a bios?

Microdirect where I am buying it from, will not do it for me

When u start the sytem up go into the bios and choose bios flah tool!!! Make sure u've put the latest bios ont floppy disk!!!

I know where to get that from, so if thats it, then all sorted Thought I'd have to buy a new chip or something like that!

It should automatically read from the floppy disc i'd guess?

Yeah if u go into ur bios and then press a button f8 maybe or summat read ur manual!!! It's step by step stuff!!

Yeah hehe. i just wanted some confirmation you see before I got it, so it's bit impossible looking in manual... I know what I'm doing now though so thanks
