8800GT Sli PSU Requirements low?

i was about to buy an evga 8800GT, and i saw the requirements.

Requirements
Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 26 Amp Amps.)
Minimum 450 Watt for SLI mode system.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 28 Amp Amps.)
An available 6 pin PCI-E power connector (hard drive power dongle to PCI-E 6 pin adapter included with card)

It said it only needs 450 watt to sli the 8800.
does the 8800 consume that less of a power?
Most cards need like at least 600 watts.
is this even correct?

nope thats standard, as for sli id get at least 650. and 350/450 is normal. if you sli get a high quality psu for singles you can get a cheaper one.

Perfectly correct. The 8800GT only consumes about ~90W under full load, of course you have to factor in whether you will be OC'ing, as that will add to the power draw.
