2.5" SATA HDD in Desktop

I have a 2.5" SATA HDD connected inside my desktop (through SATA) but my operating system (Vista Home Premium 64-bit) doesn't recognize the drive at all. My motherboard's BIOS recognizes it though. What options do I have? It doesn't show the drive at all under Device Manager or Disk Management.

what kinda drive is your primary?

Type "computer management" into the start menu search bar and hit enter. Then go storage>Disk Management and activate the newly installed hard drive.

Also, Make sure the drivers for it are installed.
