12VOLT input powersupply?

iv been looking and have not been able to find a psu the has a INPUT voltage of 12 volts. i and building a PC for a vechile and figure i could save money if i didnt have to buy an inverter.

Do that make such a thing?????????????

of course i would still need a inverter for other small things like hubs. but i found a touchscreen that takes 12volt. so maybe ill just throw in a 100watt inverter. maybe install an outlet or 2 in the car for phone chargers and the such.

Ummmm...well you will be hardpressed to find such a thing. First off, PSUs are made to convert AC current into DC current. They aren't going to make one that goes from DC to DC...that would be...well, kind of dumb lol..and the amount of people that would use them would be limited. I'm not really sure what else you could do other than buy and inverter that's large enough to power a computer.

HA! those are not going to cut but that is what i need.

and the reason i would want a 12DC-12DC is because not all parts of a computer need 12volt. you need12,5,3.3,ect. so it would need to step down 12 to all those. understand
