is there a way i can put a firewall on my site...like to block out high pings which could be Ddossers?

What control you are using? Usually ips are blocked via a control panel.
As for the firewall, they can be downloaded and installed, but usually hosts provide this for you.
Who do you host your server with?

I have seen that http://aspnix.com/hosting/shared-web-hosting/ASPnix.com provides a lot of secure features (Declude Security Suite with Sniffer (AntiSpam, AntiHijack), Secure FTP with TLS/SSL (Explicit), Secure POP3 Connection (Port 995), etc.) in their plans for their clients. I didn't see the same offers from any other companies.
