it use to over heat and turn off and and id turn it back on and it would just last shorter then the time befor and now evey time i turn it on it only makes it to destop befor it turns off witch last about 30 sec my friends say i need a new power supply is that correct? and if i do need a new power supply what what kind of power supply do i need?

the comp i have is a

hp pavilion a1445n

and if it is the power supply i need link me 1 that will work with it

mm I need You to do 2 things.
1. remove the CPU heatsink, and remove the heat trnasfer material, and use alcohol to clear both the surface of the CPU and the heatsink.
USE some good heat transfer aterial, like AS5 (asc a computer shopkeeper for a heat transfer gel between the cpu and heatsink)
re-assembly the cooler, make verry sure its holding tight, and make sure the fan is connected.

2. go to BOIS screen, and search the tab that shows voltage readings from the PSU. Post them here.


The fan in the backside of Yours computer case need to blow air INSIDE, do check if it does. Or else it will only suck away air from CPU fan, wich is BAD BAD BAD IDEA.
(PSU fan blows air OUT of the box, thisone needs to PULL IN air.)
