Text scanner

You know how we hate taking notes in class and all that stuff? I was thinking about it since I'm compiling notes for my midterm coming up. Wouldn't it be better if there was some kind of portable scanner we can use to scan the sentences or words out of certain pages, then upload it to our PC or PDA? Then we can study what we want to study without retyping everything and so forth.

Anyone know of good ones to get? Something like this:
